Creating a Flexible Multi-Purpose Events Space
TCi Furniture Works was appointed to furnish the first-floor events space at a visitors centre in Suffolk, creating a flexible, welcoming environment capable of supporting a wide range of events and activities.
The brief from the Visitors Centre team was to provide furniture for a minimum capacity of 100 people, while ensuring the space could be easily reconfigured to suit different functions. Flexibility, ease of storage and simple operation were key requirements, as the Centre team would be responsible for setting up and managing their own events.
To support the design process, TCi produced a comprehensive furniture presentation featuring room renders, layout options, product selections and colour swatches. Following consultation, the client selected a contemporary grey and green colour palette, creating a modern and professional environment while maintaining a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Soft seating, rounded furniture profiles and live planting were incorporated to transform underused areas into welcoming breakout spaces.

- 28 rectangular tilting-frame tables on castors
- 120 stackable conference chairs with upholstered seat and back pads
- 5 chair transport and storage trolleys
- 1 mobile lectern with integrated storage shelf
- 6 fully upholstered tub armchairs
- 2 fully upholstered two-seater tub sofas
- 3 circular low tables
- 5 live plants, including a Kentia Palm, Swiss Cheese Plants and an XL Bird of Paradise
The furniture solution provides the flexibility required for conferences, presentations, training sessions, community events and informal gatherings. Mobile tables, stackable seating and dedicated transport trolleys allow room layouts to be adapted quickly while minimising storage requirements.

Careful planning and coordination ensured the project was completed in a single day. TCi delivered, installed and arranged the entire FF&E package, leaving the space fully set up and ready for immediate use ahead of scheduled events.
The completed events space provides the Suffolk Visitors Centre with a practical and versatile venue that can quickly adapt to changing requirements. Combining functionality, comfort and contemporary design, the new furniture enables the Centre team to maximise the use of the space while creating a positive experience for visitors and event attendees alike.
