Royal Albert Dock – Phase 1

Neighbouring London City Airport in London’s historic Docklands,

the mixed use development at Royal Albert Dock is set to lead the way as the area is transformed into a highly desirable place to live, work and socialise.

TCi has worked with main contractor Multiplex, to provide a comprehensive site office and welfare furniture scheme at the set-up stage of the development owned by Citic Group Corporation (APB). An impressive 52 bay modular accommodation building was supplied by Premier Modular Ltd and enjoys views across the docks and Canary Wharf.

  • Principal contractor: Multiplex Construction Europe Ltd
  • Building supplier: Premier Modular Ltd
  • Modular bays: 52
  • Location: Dockside Road, London
  • Capacity: 120 office staff + >400 site operatives
  • Installation: May 2017

The project was completed over two weeks and features FSC® workstations manufactured in Devon exclusively for TCi. Wire mesh lockers, UK-manufactured locker room benches and modular canteen seating complete a large ground-floor welfare facility for site operatives. The first-floor office is completed with a number of light and airy meeting rooms and break-out furniture. The entire furniture scheme has been provided in striking black and white, reflecting the corporate branding of Multiplex.

Delivery to Royal Albert Docks Phase 1 was the first journey for the newly acquired TCi (GB) Ltd 40ft trailer. Haulage provided by John Coles Contractors. The eye-catching trailer was sign-written by Jag Signs of Holsworthy and features images of installations at Thames Tideway Tunnel and Hinkley Point C.

The installation was overseen by Shaun Wilson, SSSTS qualified TCi site manager, and completed on-time for IT services and staff to move in from nearby Compressor House.
